IMPORTANT:  Each driver and mechanic must sign in at registration desk the day of show and have their cars inspected solely to determine compliance with those rules and not for purpose of
determining safety of car or participant NO REFUNDS!
ALL drivers and pit persons MUST sign the event insurance waiver. Failing to do so will result in disqualification. Pit passes must be worn at all times.

DRIVER MUST ATTEND DRIVERS’ MEETING PRIOR TO DEMOLITION DERBY OR DRIVER WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

I have read the rules and acknowledge to have received a copy of same and agree that the decision of the Judges is final.  I agree to participate at my own risk absolutely.  It is a condition of my
participation in the contest that I sign a further release of liability in the form to be supplied by Impact Motorsports and I agree to sign such a release.

SPECIAL NOTICE:    NO ALCOHOL OR DRUGS ALLOWED IN ANY RESTRICTED (PIT, HOLDING OR PERFORMING) AREA.
ANY VIOLATIONS WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF CAR, DRIVER AND CREW.  NO REFUNDS!!!

The IMPACT Motorsports Demolition Derby is promoted as an unusual spectator attraction. If you are unclear of a rule email or call our office for clarification.
Insurance Regulation:  No person riding on outside of cars at anytime. All drivers and pit person MUST sign in when arriving at the event.
DRIVERS and MECHANICS are subject to and must obey the following rules and regulations which are set up by the promoter and the track where this event is being held:

Each driver must be a minimum age of 16.  All 16 & 17 year olds must have a parent or guardians sign an insurance waiver. Guardian must provide photo ID.
The original registered driver must drive that vehicle for the entire event. No substituting drivers.
Impact Motorsports or promoter reserves the right to approve or reject any and all entries, drivers or pit persons.
Only drivers and mechanics who sign the release sheet will be permitted in the pit area or on the track.  Driver and one (1) pit person receive free pit passes upon registration of car on day of show. All drivers and pit person must wear supplied pit passes.
IMPACT Motorsports, the promoter, track owner or fair association will not be held responsible for any cars, parts or personal property before, during and after the show.
Each competitor to carry their liability insurance. Impact Motorsports policy does not cover participants.
Drivers and mechanics should report to the Impact Motorsports sign in area minimum of an hour before the scheduled start time.
IMPACT MOTORSPORTS reserves the right to ask all pit persons for photo ID. All drivers and mechanics are in the pit area at their own risk.

1. GM 1973+ models. Dodge 1973+ models. 1973+ Ford models. Check schedule for classes. All Pro truck events will be max one ton. NO trucks with front leaf spring suspension will be allowed.
2.  4 wheel drive trucks MUST have transfer case, front drive shaft/axels removed.  NO solid front axel leaf spring 4X4 trucks allowed even with the 4X4 removed. Open to Full size vans-Safaris-Astros
3. NO jeeps, vans, hearses, limousines. Open to suburban’s, regular, extended and 4 door trucks.
4. Trucks previously run in demos may be considered too battered and unsafe, resulting in disqualification.
5. If there is in any question regarding the participant’s vehicle it is the driver’s responsibility to prove make ¾ and one ton models, year, engine etc.

Risk: Demolition derbies are hazardous and high-risk sports; therefore, anyone with a health condition, i.e., concussion, heart problems etc. or who is pregnant should not compete.
Protect yourself. Work Boots, sport equipment – e.g. neck brace, knee pads, shoulder pads, hip pads etc. are recommended.
No bare exposed skin.  All drivers MUST wear long pants/coveralls or long sleeved shirts. No exceptions.
Working seat belt and racing helmet are mandatory.  Helmets MUST have chin straps. Goggles or face shields are recommended.
BRAKES – VEHICLES MUST HAVE DEPENDABLE BRAKES AND MUST BE WORKING PROPERLY BEFORE ENTERING TRACK AT ALL TIMES.  All boundaries must be observed.
NO DRINKING OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON TRACK, EMERGENCY VEHICLE AREA OR IN THE PIT AREA. Any driver or pit person under the influence of alcohol or drugs allowed in the pit area.
Competitive aggressive hits!  Careless driving in the pit area could result in disqualification.
All cars are to be removed from the fairgrounds or racetrack immediately following the show.
Additional safety regulations may be imposed, depending on track and conditions.
Any protests must be made within 5 minutes of the last feature heat by another feature driver. Protest fee’s are $100 and are non refundable.
ALL DECISIONS OF THE OFFICIAL ARE FINAL. NO REFUNDS!!

RUNNING

Type of Truck

PREPARATION OF TRUCK MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO ARRIVING AT EVENT                                                                                     2013  PRO 1 TON TRUCKS
1. FLAMMABLE MATERIAL
All carpet, headliner, door pads and ALL other flammable material MUST be removed from inside of car. Front seat and dash board may be left in place.
2. GLASS/AIRBAGS
All windows, mirrors, airbags & trim, must be removed prior to derby event. No loose glass smashed into the bottom of doors. DRIVERS SAFTEY
3. DOORS & NUMBERS
Driver’s door must be PAINTED WHITE. An optional roof number plate may be securely installed.  No all white vehicles.
4. FIRE EXTINGUISHER
Must be within reach of the driver, must work and have a proper working gauge. Please check gauge on the extinguisher before arriving for the event.
6. BATTERY
12 volt battery must be moved to front passenger floor board and securely fastened in a box/container clear of all fuel sources. Following inspection it must be covered with a non-flammable shield such as rubber mat or steel cover. Heavy truck or farm batteries may result in disqualification. Max 2 batteries.
7. GAS TANK
Stock gas tanks must be removed. Must be a steel marine tank, plastic, custom steel fuel tank, or racing fuel cell. All tanks must be welded or bolted to the frame in box. An opening 6” larger than size of tank must be made in box to allow tank to be bolted to frame. Tanks in Suburban’s and extended cabs must be securely mounted in the rear passenger compartment and have a rubber mat between the tank and floor if using plastic tanks.  Tank must be covered with a non-flammable material after inspection. . No movement to occur during inspection. Leaks will result in disqualification. Referee has final decision. GAS TANK PROTECTORS can be welded to the seat bar and extend downward to the rear seat area. Bar MUST be 1” away from the sheet metal on a fresh truck and MUST not alter the sheet metal to achieve this. Protector bars MUST be 8” away from the doors and can’t be attached to any sheet metal. Tank protectors must be no wider than 26” at its widest point.  Applies only if tank is mounted in back seat area of the truck.
8.  FUEL LINES/PUMP
All fuel lines must have leak proof fitting with steel or rubber lines (no clear lines). No exceptions. Lines should run inside truck. Leaks will result in disqualification. All connections MUST have hose clamps to eliminate fuel leaks.  Must have a safety shut off switch marked in red located on roof in center of the windshield area for officials use. Switch to control fuel pump only. Driver’s safety. MANDATORY. This rule is for fuel injected trucks only.
10. HOOD /TAILGATE
Hoods are not mandatory. Without hood – use electric fan only – fans directly connected to motor must be removed. With hood -a 12” opening must be cut in the center of the hood. Hoods must remain open for officials’ inspection. Hood must be fastened down in maximum of 8 places including threaded rod or with seat belt strapping, wire, chain,or bolted to fender. No welding hoods closed.Hoods/rad support can be wired to bumper in 4 places.  Maximum of 2 spots with threaded rod maximum of ¾ inch holding the hood shut. These spots will account for 2 of the 8 spots.Tailgates can be welded solid to box sides. Tailgates and rear sections of box sides can be tucked over into the box floor area and be thru bolted to the box floor with 2- ¾” bolts maximum. Tailgates can be wired 4 places to the rear bumper. Box sides or gate CANNOT be welded to rear bumper or connecting bar.No extra metal added in the box area. No welding/bolting box sides or gate to box floor if folded over except for allowed rod
11. BODY PANELS
Metal may be cut from around wheels for clearance.  Front & rear quarter panels may be bolted with up to 5 bolts per panel – maximum 3/8” bolt.
Welding 2- 3×3 plates per side connecting cab corners to box sides will be permitted. Cab may be also may have max 2 – ¾” bolts to hold cab and box together.
12. DOOR FASTENING
All doors must be fastened shut with wire, straps, chains or spot-welded 1” every 12” or 6 – 3” square plates welded on per door. Solid driver’s door window screens are not permitted. Driver’s door may be welded solid.  Doors do NOT need to be welded. Driver’s choice.  Doors tops may be rolled – 1” of weld every 12” max.
13. BRACING
A 12” wide 72” long X ¼” thick steel plate – bolted in 4 locations & welded 1” every 12” – may be applied to cab doors. Must not extend onto box side or 6” onto the front fenders. NO “C” CHANNEL OR ANGLE IRON.  Not mandatory.
14. ROLL BAR
Single roll bar up each doorframe, inside or across outside of the roof. Roll bars going across the roof can be through bolted twice through the roof for driver & spectator safety. This roll bar may be welded or bolted to the frame or rockers.  Must be mounted in box OR in cab, but NOT BOTH. Recommend 3″ to 4″ square tubing or pipe. Roll bar to be mounted straight down to frame or box not on an angel towards back of box. No excessive use of materials. Not mandatory.  Bar over roof cannot be attached to any other bar on the car except the rear seat bar. Not to the rear window bar, dash bar, side bars or front window bar.
15. WINDSHIELD
SPACE
Must have a minimum of a single steel bar or chain from the cowl to the roof bolted or welded. The “A” or “H” style protection is permissible but the bars must look like the A or H. The cross brace must be in the middle and in no way come in contact with the distributor protector. The horizontal bar must be a minimum 8” from cowl. If using the “A” it may be welded or bolted in 3 locations. If using the “H” it may be welded or bolted in 4 locations & be no more than 36” in width. Driver must not be impaired from exiting through window area of car in case of emergency. If the truck has a dash bar there are no restrictions on window bar. Safety mesh must be placed across half of the rear window space directly behind driver on regular cab trucks not on extended cabs or suburban’s.
16. DASH BAR
Min 3” to Max 4” square tubing mounted doorframe to doorframe, but not to firewall. Dash bar must not touch the center section of the firewall and must not come in contact with the distributor protector. Down bars maybe welded from the DASH BAR to the frame. MUST not be welded to the frame any further forward that the crush box body mount bolts. Not Mandatory. Driver Safety.
17. INTERIOR
MODIFICATIONS
No welding of any inside body support seams or firewall seams. All holes in firewall must be covered with a non- flammable material. Large holes in truck floors must be repaired with same gauge metal and securely fastened. No reinforcement.
18. BUMPERS
Must be stock truck bumpers or any year car bumpers. Square tubing can be used to mount bumpers to the frame without reinforcing the frame. Max 4X4 tubing mounted INSIDE the frame no further back than the rad support. This will be strictly enforced. If rear bumper is removed the rear frame may be joined with a piece of square tubing (max 3”) mounted flush to the back of the frame. Top of rear bumper or top of rear frame must be 25” from the ground. Front bumper height will be maximum 28” high. This will be measured from the top center portion of the bumper. Front bumper may have gussets welded from the frame to the bumper no further than the rad support. Gusset no bigger than 1X1” tubing and 12” in total length. Not to be welded to the body.  Referee’s discretion.
20. RADIATOR Must be flushed of anti-freeze and replaced with water only. Overflows must point straight down. Floating rad cradles with maximum 1/8” gauge steel angle or flat bar will be allowed.  Rads may have max 2”X2” angle iron placed on 3 sides of the rad for protection. Angle iron maybe bolted to the rad support in 4 spots. A thin mesh screen can be place in front of the rad and be welded to the angle iron. Screen front or back of rad not both No reinforcing to the body or frame.
21. TRANSMISSION
COOLER
Are permitted and must be secured in engine compartment. Transmission dipstick must be securely fastened, wired down or have an overflow tube pointing straight down away from drivers or spectators. No coolers inside driver’s compartment or in rear windows except if it is an extended cab or suburban and they can be mounted same as the Pro Mod car rules – behind the drivers seat to the safety seat bar.
22. DRIVETRAIN PROTECTORS
Motor and transmission may be protected. Fresh trucks must have distributor protectors mounted 1” away from the firewall. Excessive material will be asked to be removed. Distributor protectors not to be attached to frame or car body. Protectors may only be fastened to motor or transmission. Reinforcement of frame or body will result in disqualification.  Distributor Protector MUST not come in contact with window bar at any time
DIFF PROTECTORS-Can be bolted or welded to the diff housing 3 sides only. Must not reinforce frame or body.  Rear wheel drive cars MUST have differential covers bolted on. . Must not extend past the shock mounting points. Rear wheel drive cars MUST have differential covers bolted on.
23. SUSPENSION/STEERING
No lift kits. Stock suspension only. Leaf springs may be clamped. Rear coils may be wired to rear differential. Maximum of 4 spring clamps per side on leaf spring trucks. Max 2 clamps on each side of the axel. No larger than 3X3 plates and ¾ blots. Clamps are not to be welded to springs. Must have factory style arch. No welding leafs springs together.  No chaining/wiring/strapping diff to body or frame Suspension must remain stock (movement must occur). Broken or sagging parts may be replaced. No spring blocks or added helpers. Gears may be welded.  Steering columns, drive shafts maybe altered but not reinforced. Ball joints, control arms and steering linkage can be exchanged. NO REINFORCING ALLOWED.  TIE RODS maybe reinforced with angle iron square tubing or be welded. No chaining/wiring/strapping diff to body or frame.  Diffs must but mounted on the factory side off the springs. Max one ton- No dual wheels

24. FRAMES
No welding of frame seams top or bottom. Rusty or bent frames may be repaired with steel no thicker than factory and no longer or wider than 4” on 2 sides only. Over repaired frames will be considered reinforced and will result in alteration or disqualification. Official’s discretion. No painting of frames except for the following. All repairs to the frames must be reported to officials before inspection. If not – may result in disqualification. Maximum of 8 repair plates. Trailer hitches MUST be fully removed.
25. MOTOR MOUNTS
Stock mounts may be welded. Any excessive or added mounts will result in disqualification. 2 extra chains may run from engine to frame -upper control arm area incase a motor mount breaks. Chain links must not be welded No extra chains, wires or straps from engine/trans to frame or body. No Exceptions.
26. BODY MOUNTS
All rubber stock body mounts and stock size bolts must stay in place. Increasing bolt size is not allowed. Max flat washer size – 3”. Eight (8) additional body mounts up to ¾” inch threaded rod are allowed; minimum 4 in cab & 4 in box. Two threaded rods are allowed for the rad cradle that is not included in the additional 8.
27. TIRES
Drive tires must be low aggression. All tires must be filled with air only. Tires may be doubled. No split rims. No screwing tires to rim or studding. All wheel weights must be removed and no welding stem protections. Carry spare mud tires in case track conditions warrant.  Over aggressive drive tires may result in disqualification .Referee’s discretion. NO triple side walls on drive tires but are permitted on steer tires only. Tread over ¼” deep maybe rejected.
